Quick, Easy, Raw Apple Butter
Leave the skins on your apples and puree to create an almost whipped cream, apple style! We enjoy this on toasted Ezekiel Bread or sometimes over organic vanilla coconut ice cream.
Apple Butter
3 Granny Smith apples, cored and chopped, peels still on
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/2-1 tsp lemon zest
2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp stevia powder
Combine ingredients in a food processor and puree until well combined and thick. Be sure the skins are finely minced. You may need to scrape down the sides often. Will keep in fridge about 1 week.

Good day!! I was a Kombucha consumer until I went on the Advanced diet. I assumed that this is a no-no until I resume a Core plan. However I really miss it. I purchased a "hydrometer" which is actually for winemaking but it makes it possible to measure sugar content. Have you been on the Advanced plan with Kombucha?
GREAT question, Kimsden! I'm going to research into a hydrometer -- sounds like a fabulous idea for kombucha! As the SCOBY goes for its second stage of fermentation, it actually consumes the sugar leaving behind the powerful probiotics. SO, you actually can enjoy kombucha on the Advanced Plan as it is essentially sugar free at the 2 week mark. Another great way to monitor when your kombucha is ready is testing the pH using simple pH strips. I plan to do a post on this soon. You've raised a great topic! More to come...hope this answers your question for now. :)
I put in a search for Ezekiel Bread and an apple butter recipe popped up. Do you have a recipe for Ezekiel Bread? I'm looking for one that I could perhaps do in my bread machine but have been unsuccessful.
Julie N.
Hi Julie, I don't personally have a bread recipe that is similar to Ezekiel Bread. I'd suggest Googling "sprouted grain bread recipe" or something like that. Sprouted grains is the difference in Ezekiel brand vs others. Good luck finding one that works!
